Insurance can be a confusing topic. Unlike other purchases you make for the Post, no instruction manual comes in the box. This can make it hard to know how to use your new insurance, when to make changes and what options you have at renewal.
Our customer service team loves hearing from our clients and answering your questions. Some of the most common questions we hear can be answered right here, without clients having to pick up the phone.
Here are your top 5 most frequently asked questions about Post insurance with our answers.
Q: Do we need a certificate to be covered for all events?
Answer: No, your Post coverage from Lockton Affinity automatically extends to your activities and special events on and off premises.
When you purchase insurance coverage for your Post’s events, you’re covered for all eligible events and activities held at your premises and offsite. Consult your policy terms to learn more about your special event coverage and benefits and contact us with any questions.
Occasionally, the entity where you are hosting the event may request you provide documentation of your insurance, in which case we will happily provide you with the needed certificate of insurance. Please allow us 1 business day to process your request. There is no additional cost for providing a certificate of insurance.
Q: Should I provide an update on the Post each year?
Answer: Yes, please make sure to provide Lockton Affinity with updated information regarding your organization’s operation each year.
Having up-to-date information helps us ensure that we have the correct exposures on your policy, appropriately accounting for all the risks of your unique operations and activities. Updated figures, such as your membership and revenue numbers are especially important to help ensure the premium associated with your account is an accurate reflection of your current business. When it’s time to renew, you’ll provide your account manager with your updated information. Your account manager will fill you in on the process when it’s time to resubmit.
Q: Are there ways to lower my premium?
Answer: Yes, it’s possible. Premium discounts are available in some cases and your Post may be able to qualify.
With coverage from Lockton Affinity, your Post can get protection specifically designed for the risks you face at a great price. But besides our already competitive rates, your organization may qualify for several opportunities to receive a premium discount.
For example, a discount is offered to organizations that serve alcohol for participating in an approved “RServing” (Responsible Serving) liquor server training course.
Posts can also receive a discount with the implementation of certain security and safety protocols and by updating their exposures. If you are interested in saving money on your premium, please contact your account manager to discuss your options.
Q: Can my premium be adjusted mid-policy?
Answer: Yes, it may be possible in some cases. While policy premiums are determined annually, certain discounts can be applied before your renewal date.
No one likes to pay more than needed, and with Lockton Affinity you can count on the right coverage with great service at the best price. If your organization qualifies for certain discounts, such as participating in RServing training or implementing security and safety protocols, you may be able to adjust your premium before your renewal date.
Even after you receive your renewal offer, certain discounts can be applied so that your annual premium is adjusted. If you are interested in a possible premium adjustment, please contact your account manager to discuss your options.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
Answer: Yes, we do! Your Post can choose the payment option that works best for your organization’s needs.
At Lockton Affinity, we offer multiple payment plans for your convenience. You have the option to pay your premium in full at the beginning of your policy, choose Direct Debit (20% down and 11 installments automatically withdrawn from your checking account) or opt for Premium Finance with 12 equal installments. You can contact your account manager for more information on these options.
Managing the insurance needs of your Post doesn’t have to be confusing. If you’ve got a question we didn’t cover, contact our team to let us know and get answers. At Lockton Affinity, we’re always ready to help and answer any questions you have about your policy, premium or coverage.
